"Happiness
in color"
is a 31’x 51’ foot mural in downtown Nashville Indiana, featured on the side of the Mulberry Cottage on Honeysuckle Lane. The mural was designed and painted by Kurt Eagleman, sponsored by Indiana’s Destination Development Corporation (IDDC), with the help of Anthony Gaugler.
Poppies were one of Kurt’s first painting subjects when he mentored under Patti Rhoden Bartels; whom he learned the foundations of impressionism. When thinking about the imagery for this mural, he thought Poppies would honor both Brown County’s rich history with the arts and his personal artistic journey. He also wanted to ensure the mural was impactful, causing patrons to interact with and photograph themselves with it to help spread the symbolism of love and happiness.
